President of the Nigeria Labour Congress (NLC), Joe Ajaero, has been summoned by the Intelligence Response Team (IRT) of the Nigerian Police Force for questioning.
A letter of invitation, signed by Assistant Commissioner of Police S. Muazu on behalf of the Deputy Commissioner of Police IRT Abuja, cited an ongoing investigation into allegations of criminal conspiracy, terrorism financing, treasonable felony, subversion, and cybercrime.
In the letter dated 19th August 2024, Ajaero is requested to appear for an interview on August 20, 2024, at 10:00 AM at the IRT Complex in Guzape District, Abuja.
Failure to attend the interview may result in a warrant for Ajaero's arrest, according to the letter.
“This office is investigating a case of Criminal Conspiracy, Terrorism Financing, Treasonable Felony, Subversion and Cybercrime in which you were mentioned.
“You are therefore invited to interview the undersigned on Tuesday 20th Aug, 2024 by 10:00hrs prompt, at IRT Complex, Old Abattoir by Guzape Junction, Abuja, through the Team Leader with telephone no 08035179870 in connection with the above investigation.
“Be informed that in the event of failing to honour this letter, this office will have no alternative than to activate a warrant of arrest against you please,” the letter read.
